“My name is not Abraheem,” he would say. “My name is T-Rex.”
Shortly after Abraheem's third birthday, he was diagnosed with leukemia. Despite the two years of chemotherapy and radiation he received, Abraheem relapsed not once, but twice. Abraheem battled his illness like a warrior. He only wanted to be called “T-Rex” because he felt he was as strong and ferocious as the dinosaur.
After months of searching for a bone marrow donor, a stem cell transplant left Abraheem a cancer survivor. Today, 7-year-old “T-Rex” continues to thrive as a first grader. His family has no doubt that he will continue to stomp down anything in his way.
